On this upcoming 14th September 2018, Raks Thai foundation, a member of CARE International, is going to hold the event “Women today: Empowering tomorrow”. The event includes the presentation of distinguished guest speakers and a deep discussion reflecting on how to empower women’s voice and the country’s situation. It is globally believed that the imbalance of women’s participation in economics, health, education, and politics is a key barrier to sustainable development. And, to empower women and girls, the United Nations has mandated gender equality as one of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs 5). Consequently, we are certainly proud to hold this event in order to address this significant issue to the society.

This time, Raks Thai foundation wishes to focus on this matter as we want people to be more aware of the importances of empowering women to the society. Raks Thai has been working on projects related to the empowerment of women for years. And presently, we have 3 main projects still being implemented including “Fund4life” in the insurgent areas of Southern Thailand, “Chi Va Pa Doi” in the Northern highland of Chiangmai province, and “Functional literacy” in the Northern highland of Nan province. And in the event, there will also be a series of exhibitions displaying the stories of women in these particular projects.

Join us for a night of inspiration where you can exchange your perspectives on women today and her potentials. “Women today: Empowering tomorrow” will give you boarder knowledge of women’s empowerment and the benefits of it to our society. if you are one of those interested in helping create our society a better place, please join us at KBANG-Siam Pic-Ganesha theater on 14th September 2018.
