The governor of Ubon Ratchathani Province, Dr. Somsak Jangtrakul, honored the event by chairing the launch ceremony for the project, which included representatives from other supporting entities such as John Deere, and Mercy Corps.
Raks Thai formally launched the Hak Khao Project on June 16, 2017 at the Lai Tong Hotel, in Ubon Ratchathani City. The goal of the project is to build capacity of rice farmers so that their rice crop meets international quality standards, and help them maximize crop yield, while reducing capital costs. That should help these farmers to earn more income for the same amount of work. This project is a collaboration between Raks Thai, the Agriculture Section of Ubon Ratchathani Province, the District Agriculture Offices, and the private sector.
